The most queries and emails I get are regarding the cost of the treatment ! A perfectly valid question. And so it should be .
Clients wanting to explore their options , need to research if it is a treatment they want to save for , can afford or is it something they can put on the long finger until the time is right.
I never pressurise clients into making a decision- as its a big step. It also something that requires maintenance , as refreshes and top ups are yearly . This too needs to be planned for.
I often hear clients query my fee as opposed to another practitioners fees, where they do specials, discounts, Groupon deals and seemingly unsustainable prices.
It's a very fair question and one I will try my best to answer.
Firstly , I take no offence to the question, it's a natural curiosity and in today's world we want bang for our buck , quality and reassured that you are in good hands.
So! Here goes!
I am a Registered nurse and midwife with 22 yrs experience under my belt. Experience is GOLD and something you simply can not buy. It is the ultimate defining difference.
When you get the fee structure from me it includes the 2 step process fee. Some Techs just give you the initial 1 step fee and clients get quire a shock to discover they need to return in 4-8 weeks for an additional fee.
I trained with the best in the business as I am passionate to deliver quality brows , so I didn't scrimp on my training -( I too researched my training providers for quality and price ). My training provider gives us online support on an ongoing basis, as well as refresher courses twice yearly.
I am constantly researching the field and upskilling on an ongoing basis with other professionals in the industry- Not only in Ireland but UK and USA.
My products are of a high quality , safe, sterile , one use only and disposable . My pigments are of a medical grade.
My insurance is a professional level and reassuring to the client that there is proper cover.
My personal attention is guaranteed , and prompt resolution achieved if problems arise.
As a medical professional I have the extra edge on the biology of skin , healing and end results as well as reassurance for clients who are also patients recovering from the effects of Chemotherapy or other illnesses.
As a nurse, I have absolutely 100% knowledge on microbiology and microbes , with understanding the pathology and importance of sterile field , hand and equipment hygiene during treatment .
I ventured into this world of eyebrows with my aim to improve the lives of my clients suffering from poor brows following cancer chemo and other illness , as a nursing professional . I never dreamed that it would lead into the beauty business as I am not a Beautician. . I now see 50% clients who have been ill and 50% clients from the beauty sector .
Sadly Semi permanent make up is an unregulated business , and there are people out there delivering this service after a 2 day weekend course at knockdown bargain prices . The tools and pigments may be of a poorer quality , possibly purchased on eBay or other dubious sources . Questionable or no consent forms ,. Cheap or no insurance . Little or no EXPERIENCE. I have researched 'professionals' myself only to find some of these 'experienced' Brow Artists are young , having trained for just 2 days , hesitant when queried about portfolios, insurance and consent forms.
Tread carefully when choosing your practitioner to do your Eyebrows- eyebrows can't be hidden !
Your research should not be confined to price alone.
Research as you would any professional - doctor, orthodontist, consultants or masters. .
Go for a consult and query where they trained , the ongoing training and ask to see their Certificate and insurance cert.
All professionals will have a portfolio, ask to see it. There should be no hesitation - ALL of us HAVE to take before and after photos for insurance purposes.
Insist on a consent form , and if there isn't one query why not?
Their photos may be copied and pasted from other professional sites that have been touched up/ filtered etc. ( incidentally I do not put up many photos due to privacy issues some ladies may have).
Ask about aftercare and the follow up is if there is a problem ( like brows fading off green , blue or grey) , their corrective practice and their knowledge of the colour wheel and corrective pigments.
Finally, I invite you not to query the professional fee I charge, but to query why others are so cheap!
If price is your driving force over quality , there are plenty cheap practitioners at every street corner !
Message me directly for the fee structure and breakdown and you will see that what you get is far better value for money than any inexperienced practitioner making a quick buck . Pay cheap, pay twice!
Below are some examples for 'thanks but I found somewhere cheaper!'
