Olive - A profile .
The face behind the name .
This is Olive O Sullivan.
Olive is a Registered Nurse 37 years , with 30 of those years in hospital clinical experience , including 10 yrs in Obstetric theatres. She is married , a mum of 2 adult boys and set her roots in the lovely West Cork town of Clonakilty. The private practice is in Clonakilty town center in a beautifully renovated old stone fronted Grainstore. ( Google maps P85 W212).
Olive noticed that people undergoing Chemotherapy engaged in all sorts of wellness assistance to help them through their Chemo journey . This included wig fittings, bandanas and turbon's for the head, but little attention was paid to those little hairs over our eyes and we don't realise how important they are until they are gone.
Eyebrows frame our faces and without them we can look a little odd. Clients have said that they just look like that 'person with cancer'.
Eyebrow thinning or Eyebrow loss can often make a client look sicker than they feel .
Clients with young children often mention that whilst the child can see that nothing is wrong, they sense that something that isn't quite right .
Celebrities like Majella O Donnell was very vocal about this before she had hers done.
Drawing on brows daily is a chore and sadly eyebrow wigs unfortunately slip.
Other celebrities like HELEN MIRREN , and TRINNY WOODALL have succumbed to an easier life with Microblading.
Microblading is a safe and semi-permanent way to replace the brows, thus giving the patient a huge
boost in confidence.
Olive has had clients who have cried tears of joy when they see the results. The relief is palpable.
They can now go swimming with ease, and have no concern that the rain will wash off pencilled on brows.
Checking brows after rain, sweating or exercise is a full time job.
When a patient looks good, they actually feel good. The uplift they get from having eyebrows is
The transformation in the patient’s confidence is clearly visible.
It is not purely from an aesthetic view do they look good - patients with no brows look sicker than they feel!
Microblading is where medical grade pigment is implanted into curved hair like strokes in the skin ,
created with a microblade, and left to heal for 4-8 weeks resulting in a soft hair like strokes that
resembles or mimics a brow hair. A unique hand tool is used with 15 needles lined up in a row to
ensure penetration is between the dermis and epidermis.
Eyebrow tattoo by the Microblading method helps in framing and bringing balance to the face and the treatment can done up to a few days before you commence the cycle of Chemotherapy . Call us to discuss and/or get permission from your Oncologist.
We get referrals from Cork City Oncologists, GPs and Wig clinics daily .
Let the Doctors and Hospitals take care of your illness, and leave the WELLNESS to us.
Olive will not only attend to your eyebrows, but she will hold and support you on your journey in a safe environment executed with due diligence .
Sadly the Tattoo industry in Ireland is unregulated , so anyone after a two day training can open up- even if they are not medical personnel.
Olive does a daily 'Coffee Talk' on Instagram stories in the mornings Mon- Fri , so why not tune in daily and submit any questions you may have.
She covers a topic every day and posts photos of her before and after work ( client permitting).
Tune in and put a face to the name!
